Roberto Galván Honored by Cambridge Who's Who for Excellence in Occupational Safety
Mr. Galván is responsible for conducting federal safety inspections, training in occupational safety, instructing research and development activities, as well as inspecting compliance safety for businesses on tribal land and acting as a consultant for businesses that are developing safety programs.

/Industrial Safety and Health News Articles/ - Sacaton, AZ, April 16, 2008, Roberto Galván, Occupational Safety and Health Officer III for Gila River Indian Community, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of occupational safety.

In his current position, Mr. Galván is responsible for conducting federal safety inspections, training in occupational safety, instructing research and development activities, as well as inspecting compliance safety for businesses on tribal land and acting as a consultant for businesses that are developing safety programs. Gila River Indian Community is a non-profit organization that provides resources for many shared social needs, such as recreational activities, cultural projects, services and protection. Prior to joining Gila River Indian Community, Mr. Galván worked as a Data Entry Specialist at the ASARCO Copper Refinery and as a car inspector at the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway. He eventually was drawn to occupational safety, he says, because he had always been interested in working to help keep others safe. The most gratifying aspect of his career is knowing that his work helps protect members of his community.

Mr. Galván received his Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from West Texas A&M University in Canyon in 1984. Upon first entering the Gila River Indian Community, Mr. Galván noticed that it was in need of much help.
