He is responsible for conducting physical health screenings for employees, evaluating injuries and overseeing administrative functions. In addition, he promotes job safety based on OSHA standards. He began his career as a general surgeon, and his desire to help industrial workers motivated him to pursue occupational medicine.

A board certified occupational medicine specialist, Dr. DeSalvio received his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1981. His professional affiliations include the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine and the American College of Preventive Medicine. In his spare time, he volunteers for St. Mary's Church and school.
