Dean Segal Added to Exclusive Registry's Roster
Dean Segal is chief engineer of a 22-story, 236-unit residential apartment building

LOS ANGELES, CA, February 24, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dean Segal, Chief Engineer of Plant Operations & Director of Fire Life and Safety for The Ambassador Tower, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in the maintenance of a 22-story, 236-unit residential apartment building.

Dean Segal began working at The Ambassador Tower in 1991 and is now such an intergral factor in the successful operation of the building that tenants can't imagine anyone else ensuring their conformatble existence. His list of responsibilities is longer than one's arm and includes: supervising maintenance and repair work; assigning and delegating daily maintenance duties; contacting vendors; working with staff on repairs; performing plumbing, electrical, HVAC, pool and general maintenance; ordering building supplies; scheduling and supervising vendors; overseeing the cooling tower, cogeneration and boiler maintenance; acquiring the proposals, bids and documentation necessary for certification and registration; interacting with state, county, city and regulation 4 fire testing inspectors; and operating 2-200HP, CB, boilers and a 160-ton carrier chiller system. He attributes his success to his hard work and tenacity.

A certified boiler engineer since 1994, and certified in hazardous waste since 1993, Dean Segal holds an Associate of Arts Degree in Steam Plant Operation from Los Angeles Trade-Technical College. He completed coursework in electronics 1A, 1B, 2A, 2B, 3A at Los Angeles Valley College and in radio communications and electronics with the United States Army. He holds a Los Angeles City building and safety steam license and completed training in co-gen operations & maintenance in 2000. He holds universal-level certification in air conditioning and refrigeration and has held a 500HP steam license since 1995. In 1993, he received EPA technician certification from Operating & Maintenance Engineers, and hospital fire life and safety certification. He received a Federal Communications Commission license since 1989 and completed HVAC equipment training at North Valley Occupation Center. He is a member of Local 501, the International Union of Operating Engineers.
