Michael O. Akintayo, Ph.D., Named to Exclusive Membership Organization
Dr. Michael O. Akintayo undergoes continuing education programs in infectious diseases
BROOKLYN, NY, February 4, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Michael O. Akintayo, Executive Director for Maico NY Inc., and PHA I of the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in his career.
With 18 years of professional experience, Dr. Akintayo attributes his success to the blessings of God, and the ethics instilled in him by his parents. At his current posts, he is responsible for creating awareness on tuberculosis eradication, performing tuberculosis testing, and monitoring patients under treatment and visiting them in their homes to ensure continued treatment. He is also in charge of assessment and case management, reviewing patients' charts, writing grants for the corporation, and organizing and mentoring programs and activities for the youth.
Dr. Akintayo received his Ph.D. in General Human Services in 2009 from Capella University. In 2001, he received his Master of Science in Human Services Administration from Metropolitan College of New York, where he was listed on the Dean's List three times. He received his Bachelor of Science in Sociology, with Honors, and and holds graduate certificate in online teaching and in healthcare administration. A member of the American Public Human Services Association, Dr. Akintayo received the Mayoral Scholarship in 2000.
Dr. Michael O. Akintayo is the author of Parenting Among Christian Immigrants in the United States. This book also addresses some of the concerns and struggles of immigrant parents as they raise their children and young adults in the United States.
MAICO NY Inc is established to impact lives of Nigerians and other immigrants living in and around New York. The organization promotes responsible citizenry most especially among Nigerian immigrants and residents of East New York, Brooklyn, through various programs.
