John T. Smashey has been accepted among the prestigious ranks of Stanford Who's Who as a result of his remarkable professional career.

MANTUA, NJ, June 1, 2011 /Stanford Who's Who/ -- John T. Smashey has been accepted among the prestigious ranks of Stanford Who's Who as a result of his remarkable professional career. As an Environmental, Health, and Safety Manager with the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard (NISMO), Mr. Smashey has routinely exhibited the passion, vision and dedication necessary to be considered among the best.

Mr. Smashey has over 30 years of hands-on experience as a boilermaker, rigger, fitter and heavy equipment operator and Supervisor. He joined the Global Management team in August 2010. He brings a wealth of knowledge in the Safety, Health and Environmental arenas. His experience as an independent contractor and consultant has allowed him to observe best practices in a number of different industries.

NISMO's excellent safety awareness program is enhanced by Mr. Smashey's ability to clearly articulate expectations in a manner that is easily understood by their workforce. John's skill on the podium as an instructor is evident in the monthly safety presentations he prepares and delivers. His interaction in the field with the workforce continues to foster an environment of personal accountability and program ownership. John's risk mitigation approach continues to keep safety in the forefront and reduce the potential for personal injury or equipment damage.

During his collegiate career, John earned a Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety and an Associate's degree in Emergency Management. His brilliant work made him the recipient of several awards, including a Firefighter Medal of Valor with Cluster, Gloucester County Board of Chosen Freeholders Certificate of Commendation, New Jersey Senate and General Assembly Citation, and a Gloucester County Fire Chief's Association Unit Citation.
